For what it's worth I think this chair has one of the most beautiful ever made. Designed for Nancy University in 1930 for use in the halls of residence and subsequently used by the designer in his own home.
Jean Prouvé had an engineering background, which shows in the design of this chair. A moulded sheet steel frame supports a single piece seat and backrest in fabric or leather with ingenious broad leather straps forming the armrests. Unlike many of the other great chairs from this era, it has not been copied and is much less seen.
