Ligne Roset Kashima settee

The Ligne Roset Kashima settee, designed by Michel Ducaroy, is an iconic modular sofa system reissued by Ligne Roset in 2023. Often described as the “comfortable Chesterfield”, Kashima combines classic, reassuring proportions with the soft, enveloping comfort of an all-foam seat.

Its generous rounded forms create a relaxed, cocooning feel, with integrated armrests, lumbar support and a headrest all shaped into one continuous silhouette. The nest-like seat allows the user to sit comfortably wedged at the sides, while the fully quilted cover gives Kashima its distinctive, softly structured appearance.

Despite its plush look, Kashima is built using high-density foams, giving the seat lasting support and durability. The buttoning is created with invisible tie rods placed within the foam, while the quilted cover features pinched seams at the corners, reinforced by internal lacing. Kashima is a modular settee collection, making it suitable for anything from a compact lounge setting to a generous modular seating arrangement.
